About

The 7-day youth exchange "Age Construction" taking place in the city of Magdeburg offered young professionals from Finland, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom a possibilty to discuss and reflect on the topics age, ageing and society's handling of elderly people.
In comparison to key words like "gender" or "ethnicity" age and ageing have not yet been deconstructed for what they are - a construction of society.
Every individual is concerned when it comes to ageing and our understanding of being old, age and old people's place in society.

Thus, the 40 participating youngsters experienced a week of in-depth discussion, activating and thought-stimulating methods to deconstruct their own understanding of being/getting old. To examine the topic from different angles (advertisement, law, society, family etc.) was our aim.
To document the findings and activities executed during the exchange, we filled this website with more information.
